Kinji has a general commercial and business litigation practice with a diverse mixture of practice areas and a broad range of experience. Kinji’s primary practice areas include complex commercial and civil litigation with a focus on contractual disputes, securities, shareholder and transactional claims, environmental remediation claims, insurance recovery, construction and engineering law. He has successfully mediated and reached negotiated settlements of several disputes on behalf of his clients in the areas of contract, construction/engineering, environmental, insurance and personal injury litigation.
Tamela (Tammy) is a senior litigation and dispute resolution partner in Lawson Lundell’s Calgary office. Tammy brings more than 25 years of experience advising clients in a wide variety of commercial disputes and with respect to risk management. Currently, she serves clients in the energy, telecommunications, and financial and professional services sectors regarding complex claims involving commercial, environmental, and intellectual property issues and risk and reputational management. Tammy has appeared before all levels of the Alberta Courts, and has experience before the British Columbia Supreme Court and the Federal Court of Canada.
Mark’s practice encompasses a broad range of commercial disputes, including technology and intellectual property litigation, protection of trade secrets, breaches of fiduciary obligation, and fraud. He has particular experience with injunctions, trade-mark protection, mining disputes involving confidential information, and the area of preservation and discovery of electronic documents and records in complex litigation. Mark has appeared as counsel in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the British Columbia Court of Appeal, and in the Federal Court.
Craig Ferris, QC
Craig is a litigator and acts for clients in commercial and business disputes. His particular areas of specialization include shareholder remedies, trust, pension and fiduciary disputes, securities and transactional litigation, product liability, insurance, forestry and construction. Craig has appeared in all levels of court in British Columbia as well as the Supreme Court of Canada. He has also acted in private arbitrations and in administrative settings including before the British Columbia Securities Commission. Craig has particular expertise in class actions and acted as lead counsel in several successful defences of major class proceedings.
Mike’s main areas of focus are civil litigation with an emphasis on bankruptcy and insolvency, builder’s liens and other construction disputes, pension and employee benefits litigation, and commercial landlord and tenant disputes. In addition, he also has experience in realizations, enforcement of foreign judgments, commercial and residential foreclosures, and receiverships. He has appeared at all levels of court within the Province of B.C. Mike also routinely advises various stakeholders, including secured and unsecured creditors, debtors and trustees in bankruptcy, as to their rights, remedies and obligations in respect of both commercial and personal insolvencies.
Amy practices civil and commercial litigation and acts for clients in complex business and commercial disputes. Her practice areas include pension and benefits disputes, defamation, commercial disputes, class actions, environmental remediation claims and construction disputes. She has also successfully resolved numerous matters using alternative dispute resolution, including mediation.
Peter is a litigator with a wide range of experience, practising for over 20 years in Vancouver. For a number of years he practised criminal law before resuming civil and commercial litigation, including claims involving allegations of fraud. He has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia as well as other professional bodies. His experience includes real property litigation, products liability, insurance defense and coverage, defamation, commercial disputes, contracts, class actions, company law and banking and insolvency litigation. He also has experience with various types of injunctions, including Mareva and Anton Pillar injunctions.
Marko practices civil and commercial litigation, with a focus on securities litigation, class actions, defamation, copyright and other intellectual property disputes, products liability cases, and commercial arbitrations. He has appeared as lead counsel at all levels of court in British Columbia, before the Trade-marks Opposition Board, and as defence counsel before the British Columbia Securities Commission. Marko is the head of the firm’s Defamation and Media Law Group.
